A Cheyenne Odyssey

Grade 4, 8 - Manifest Destiny - West, 1860s

Students take the role of Little Fox, a Northern Cheyenne boy who grows into adulthood over the course of the game. During this time, the Plains Indians experienced tremendous upheaval in

their way of life as the United States expanded into the West. This upheaval led to conflict that

was at times violent and sometimes resulted in disastrous (and deadly) consequences on both

sides (Note: Direct depictions of graphic violence are not in this game although some characters perish from natural and unnatural causes). Prominent events include "The Battle of the Greasy Grass" which is also known as "The Battle of Little Bighorn." This simulation features the perspective of the Northern Cheyenne over that of the United States government, settlers, or soldiers.

Oregon Trail

Grade 4, 8 - Manifest Destiny - West, 1840s - 1850s

A game that was popular in the 1980's has been remade into a free web version. Not exactly as the original, but still has the feel and flavor of the early Oregon Trail game.

Tip: Save some money to buy extra wheels later in the game!
